Game Information
Introduction: Big Bass Christmas Frozen Lake
Here’s another Big Bass slot, and another review. I promise you this is NOT déjà vu… I think? At this point Pragmatic has us feeling like we’re living in the Matrix. Big Bass have launched yet another instalment, and because Christmas is looming, they saw fit to pickpocket our balances with another “most popular series” release. So take the red pill and enter the real world, as we head into yet another review for Big Bass Christmas Frozen Lake…
Big Bass Christmas Frozen Lake slot keeps the familiar 5×3 layout with 10 paylines—because why would Pragmatic ever change their golden goose? This one brings High Volatility and an RTP of 96.07%, with stakes ranging from 10p–£250 depending on your region. The usual Ante Bet of +50% stake is here too, with the usual vague promise of a “higher chance” at the bonus. Because why tell us exactly how much? Oh, Pragmatic.
A relatively low 5,000x max win compared with other titles makes Big Bass Christmas Frozen Lake feel a little behind the pack. But let’s dig deeper before we cast our judgement.

Visuals and Audio
Pragmatic usually do a pretty good job on visuals, and to be fair, they’ve done well again – which is impressive considering this is Big Bass number 460. The Big Bass Christmas Frozen Lake slot theme is dominated by crisp icy blues, cartoon-styled festive décor, and plenty of frozen-over fishing touches.
Symbols include a sleigh, a candy-cane-inspired fishing rod, a robin, a bauble-stuffed tackle box, and frosted 10–A royals. The bonus elements – the prize fish and scatter fish dressed as elves – are actually a clever touch. And of course, the fisherman himself appears as Santa. Visually, they nailed it; it’s charming, colourful, and unmistakably Christmas.
The audio is subtle but effective. Gentle jingling bells echo in the background, giving enough festive flair without melting your brain. Not outstanding, but absolutely not terrible.

Gameplay and Features
The base game is standard Big Bass territory—you’re not hitting that max win here unless you’ve downed a luck potion and predicted all six lottery numbers. You’re hunting for 3, 4, or 5 Scatters for 10, 15, or 20 Free Spins respectively. If only two Scatters land, you get the standard Big Bass respin feature, pulling more symbols into view for a chance at redemption.
Bonus Round
Regular Bonus: Before Free Spins begin, you choose 1 of 12 cards. Just like Golden Lake, two of these grant the Super Bonus: Frozen Lake. But as we all know, you’ll hit the regular bonus 99% of the time.
- 4 Santa Fishermen = 2x Collect + 10 spins
- Another 4 = 3x Collect + 10 spins
- Another 4 = 10x Collect + 10 spins
It’s the classic Big Bass progression. The bonus buy costs 100x your stake.

Frozen Lake Spins (Super Bonus)
In this upgraded mode, all regular symbols are removed from the reels completely, leaving only Cash Fish and Collectors. It looks and feels more exciting, though the “super” part seems mostly to be higher fish values and a cleaner reel set. Just because symbols are removed, doesn’t meant every slot has something in, so what’s the point? The progression is still the same, they don’t even require one less collector to get through to the next stage.
The Super Bonus buy costs 270x your stake.

Final Thoughts
We all know Pragmatic have zero shame in dropping reskinned clones of their many Big Bass titles. At this point they’ve cloned so many it feels like they’re preparing to overthrow the Jedi and execute Order 66 on us all. Is this slot anything new? No. Not really. It’s a mixture of Christmas clones and Frozen Lake mechanics blended together.
But… from my own playtime, I actually saw some nice profit. So maybe it knew I needed a good review and decided to play nice for a change. Apologies in advance to the next five players who spin and lose.

Would it make my Christmas rotation? Honestly… probably. I can’t say I dislike it, and it did impress me a little. Whatever hypnotic spell Pragmatic has over us, this one works better than expected.
Thalnothos’ Rating: 7/10.
