Having issues with Big Bass Splash 1000 ?

Hello everyone, Thalnothos here! Let’s break down another slot — this time, Big Bass Splash 1000, as requested by someone in the Discord community. The latest entry in the Big Bass saga from Pragmatic Play is set to drop on December 8th, 2025. But can this one reel in the cheese, or is it just more of the same old carp? (I still think that pun’s great.)

Despite what the name might suggest, Big Bass Splash 1000 isn’t the 1,000th Big Bass slot release—though it certainly feels like it. We’re now well past 25 different Big Bass titles, maybe 30+… and it’s no mystery why. These slots must be netting Pragmatic Play a fortune, and players just can’t seem to get enough.

If you’ve played the original Big Bass Splash, you’ll feel right at home. The 5×3 layout with 10 fixed paylines remains intact, with familiar symbols like the tackle box, dragonfly, fishing rod, and—of course—the fish.

So what’s actually different this time? Mainly the massive jump in max win potential, now sitting at 25,000x (up from 5,000x). The RTP drops slightly by 0.2%, and volatility climbs even higher. Whether that’s a good thing or not depends on your appetite for risk.

Visuals & Sound

Let’s be reel — it’s Big Bass. Visually, not much has changed. The bright cartoon-style waters and familiar fisherman return. The soundtrack, however, feels a little plain. Worse yet, I noticed the music cutting out during the bonus round, which kills the immersion. Not ideal when you’re supposed to be hooked on the action. It’s a recurring theme with Pragmatic lately…

Base Game

At this point, what’s left to say? The base game plays just like the rest of the series — small, occasional wins, with the real excitement saved for the bonus rounds.

That said, I did notice a neat little update. In previous versions, landing two scatters could trigger a respin to try for a third. This time, Big Bass Splash 1000 adds a pre-bonus screen that can randomly award a third scatter, triggering the free spins. It’s a small but welcome touch. However it doesn’t happen all that often.

Bonus Round

The bonus round keeps the classic fisherman progression:

  • 4 Fishermen = 2x multiplier
  • 8 Fishermen = 3x multiplier
  • 12 Fishermen = 10x multiplier

Before the spins start, up to five modifiers can apply, including:

  • More fish money symbols
  • More fisherman wilds
  • Extra dynamite, hook, or bazooka triggers
  • Starting from level 2
  • Additional free spins

In my 10 test rounds (10p stake, £10 per round), here’s what I caught:
£11.66, £2.50, £1.44, £9.22 (5 scatters), £3.30, £39.92, £28.38 (another 5 scatter), £5.92, £1.90, and £3.40.

So yes, the volatility is real. A few impressive wins, surrounded by plenty of duds.

Super Bonus

Now here’s where it gets interesting—or maybe not. The Super Bonus costs 450x your stake, offering more 1,000x fish symbols. Sounds thrilling, right? Except… it’s identical to Big Bass Bonanza 1000’s setup.

My results (10p stake, £45 buy):
£112.00, £1.20, £103.22, £104.60, £6.10. You either hit a whopper or you’re left with an empty net.

Unfortunately, due to UK Gambling Commission restrictions, the Super Bonus isn’t available to UK players—only via the 10p Gamer Arcade. So unless you’re playing there, it’s just bait you can’t touch.

Final Verdict

So, is Big Bass Splash 1000 a fresh catch or just another recycled fish? Honestly, it’s somewhere in between. Pragmatic Play knows this formula works and is milking it for all it’s worth. A slightly higher max win and a new pre-bonus feature add a pinch of flavor, but overall, it’s business as usual under the waves.

If you’re a casual player looking for simple fun and don’t mind the high volatility, it’s worth a few casts. But if you’re hoping for a real evolution in the series, you might find yourself swimming in circles.

Thalnothos’ Rating: 6/10 – It’s okay. Not bad, not great, just… Big Bass.
